Sri Lanka with G Adventures

Sri Lanka with G Adventures

Before heading back to Newcastle University for my final year of study I decided to go on an adventure to somewhere I had never been before. My bucket list is long but Sri Lanka had always made it close to the top. I chose to travel with G Adventures as I was travelling alone and knew it would be much more relaxing with all the transport already sorted out for me.

I have travelled to India but Sri Lanka is completely different and unique. It is clean and there is less obvious poverty – whereas India offered me more of a culture shock.

The problem with these trips is that a lot has to be paid for when you get there as they are classified as optional activities. So by the end of the experience my university budget was running very sparse.

The trip ended in Colombo. Overall, I thought Sri Lanka was an incredibly beautifully place to visit and I wish I had more time to explore. However, Colombo is unlike anywhere else in the country. Although it is the capital I would not recommend going out of your way to visit it as there is not much to see.

Sri Lanka was a incredible country to visit. I wish I could have stayed longer.

I definitely recommend travelling with G Adventures if you are travelling alone. But if I had the opportunity to go with friends I would have done so as I never felt nervous or scared during my time in Sri Lanka.

Hope you enjoyed the photos, xo
